I have used MacFamilyTree for several years and therefore I bought the latest issue, MacFamilyTree 9, and hoped for better software this time. Bought myself a new iMac too, expecting to have a lot of fun with family research.
Unfortunately, there are many, many problems with the software this time too. The program not responding when using it occurs on a daily basis, VERY frustrating. “CloudTree Sync and Share” fails too, although I have plenty of space available (135 GB).

• MacFamilyTree is a commercial genealogy program for Mac OS X which helps users build their family tree, adding data about family members, including pictures and sound clips. The program allows the user to add sources for the information, with the ability of including scanned documents. It uses the Core Data API to store information internally but can import and export.
• Finding quality genealogy software for the Mac has been impossible. There have been useable free/shareware programs that have helped but had none of the functionality of the PC based programmes. IFamily has changed all that. It equals and even surpasses the best in all genealogy programs across all platforms and for only $40aus - £16.50 sterling.

I have attempted to remove the software program several times, but nothing gets better.

I contacted tech support at Synium Software GmbH, who attempted to give me worthless instructions on how to generate a report from the software program, so they could “investigate” the issue on hand. This didn´t work out at all.

I will not pay for another upgrade of the software when it is due. I am very disappointed with the entire software.
Do yourself a favor, look for another family research software program.
